The body of a woman was rescued around 9:30 Wednesday morning in the waters of Lake Kipawa, Témiscamingue. The Sûreté du Québec states that the body was transported for identification purposes.
Police officers were called in at around 10:15 pm on July 2, after two people fell from a boat on Tuesday night.
A man would have managed to reach the boat, but a woman was still missing on Wednesday morning.
We are talking about a woman in her thirties, so yesterday, following the call, there is research that has been started , explained Christine Coulombe, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec in the early morning Wednesday.
Nautical patrol boats as well as divers from the Sûreté du Québec also visited the site, adds Coulombe.
The police are not able to tie the two events together yet. They must first proceed to judicial identification.
