SAINT-LIN – LAURENTIDES – A routine interception of a driver for a breach of the Highway Safety Code took an unexpected turn Tuesday night in Saint-Lin-Laurentides, while police found more than 20,000 tablets methamphetamine in the suspect’s vehicle.
The interception, which was not unusual at first, took place around 9:30 pm on 12th Avenue.
It was during the usual checks that the police discovered the impressive amount of narcotics in the car they had intercepted.
In total, patrollers seized more than 20,000 methamphetamine tablets, $ 1,000 in cash, as well as various amounts of cannabis and cocaine.
The 37-year-old driver from Saint-Lin-Laurentides was arrested on the spot. He was later released on a promise to appear.
Charges of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking could be brought against him incessantly.
