An individual who was on the radar of the police found dead in a residence in Chicoutimi North
Experts from the Forensic Science and Forensic Sciences Laboratory were on the scene Thursday afternoon to conduct expertises on the crime scene.
SAGUENAY | The murder of a 22-year-old man found dead in a Saguenay residence Wednesday may well have been committed by members of organized crime, but the police still have no suspects in sight.
SQ investigators confirmed Thursday that the victim is Alexandre Larouche, 22, an individual who had been on the radar of law enforcement for some time.
“He was known in the police, and it is probably related to the criminal environment to the point where we went in the investigation,” said the spokesperson of the Sûreté du Quebec Hugues Beaulieu.
According to information that has circulated, it could be a story of settlement between the victim and organized crime for a drug debt case.
“He did not deserve that”
The body of 22-year-old Alexandre Larouche was found by a friend Wednesday afternoon at a residence located at 109, rue Johanna in Chicoutimi-Nord, Saguenay.
It is the latter who would have contacted the Saguenay police, who quickly transferred the file to the squad of crimes against the person of the SQ Wednesday late afternoon.
According to a former co-worker who spoke to Le Journal on Thursday, Alexandre Larouche was a man with “a big heart” who was always ready to help his friends.
“I am stunned. Even if it’s a drug story, it’s big … he did not deserve it, “said Kaven Simard, who last worked with the victim about two months ago.
Thursday afternoon, the command post of the SQ was still deployed in front of the residence where the murder took place.
The experts of the Laboratory of Forensic Sciences and Forensic Medicine arrived in the middle of the afternoon to carry out expertises on the crime scene.
The body of the victim was still there at the end of the day and had to be moved only at the end of the evening.
According to neighbors told anonymously on Wednesday, a gun-like noise was heard last Saturday, four days before the body was found. The police did not confirm this information.
One of them also noted that there was often going back and forth in this residence for a long time.
“It brewed a lot often in the evening. There were a lot of parties. It’s been two years that we sleep closed windows, “said a neighbor who wishes to silence his name.
It should be noted that this is the first murder to occur in Saguenay since November 2016.
