Murder of Ophélie Martin-Cyr: a third person is arrested in Trois-Rivières

The Québec Police tactical intervention group arrested a third suspect on Wednesday in Trois-Rivières for the murder of Ophélie Martin-Cyr, whose body was found in a field. of Yamachiche last October.

The suspect was arrested at a residence on Napoléon Street.

The Sûreté du Québec did not want to reveal the reasons that led to the arrest of this person.

It was impossible to know if the suspect is a man or a woman.

According to our information, this person was involved in one way or another in the murder of Ophélie Martin-Cyr.

In the company of a friend, the 19-year-old had made a tour of the bars of Trois-Rivières on the evening of October 9th.

For some unknown reason, the two women would be in a car carrying two other individuals, René Kègle and Francis Martel.

Ophélie Martin-Cyr was shot dead while her friend could have saved her life by throwing herself through a window of the car on the move.

Kègle and Martel were subsequently arrested and are currently facing murder charges.
