The IOTA Foundation, Blockchain Technology-Based Nonprofit Foundation Signs New Partnership with Ledger, the security giant linked to crypto-currencies and the large distributed register.
Integration of IOTA with the Ledger wallet
The Ledger Nano S hardware portfolio will allow crypto-holders to protect their private keys.
On a hardware wallet, the user account key is isolated from the computer or smartphone to secure virtual assets against hacking attempts. As part of the security protocol, crypto-holders must perform transaction validation directly from the Ledger hardware device.
Eric Larchevêque, CEO of Ledger said:
“Providing the highest level of security and quality is a major goal for both Ledger and IOTA. “
“The collaboration between the two teams has created an immediate synergy focused on developing a compatibility feature that allows users to access, store and manage IOTA tokens on Ledger devices. We are delighted to welcome IOTA on the Ledger platform. “
Ledger stands out thanks to BOLOS
An operating system named BOLOS is integrated into a secure chip of Ledger wallets. Also used for credit cards and passports, the secure chip is EAL5 + certified.
The platform would be tamper-proof and host applications and information with a high level of security requirements. A simple amateur could hack generic microcontrollers but hacking a secure chip requires immeasurable effort.
IOTA is a scalable technology with no transaction costs, and is on track to secure the future of the Internet of Things . Its price is around $ 0.50, up 1.97% over the last 24 hours. IOTA’s market capitalization currently stands at $ 1.4 billion.
