DELTA, BC | For some mysterious reason, a man entered a police station in Delta, a suburb of Vancouver, on Saturday, where he set about setting fire to a couch in the lobby.
According to the local police, the man committed his mischief at around 1:30 pm The flames started to trigger the sprinkler system and evacuate the building.
Due to fire, smoke and water, the hall has suffered significant damage. It had to be closed to the public, but the employees and police working in the building did not need to be moved.
“Fortunately, no one was hurt,” said Cris Leykauf, Delta Police Public Affairs Coordinator, in a statement.
The man behind the fire was arrested. The police did not explain the reason for his action or whether any charges could be filed against him.
