The fighter and former Ultimate Fighting Championship Champion (UFC) Conor McGregor was arrested by Miami police on Monday in Miami Beach.
According to the American network Fox, he was at the heart of an altercation with a supporter who was trying to take a picture of him at the entrance of the Fontainebleau Hotel.
According to the police report, McGregor grabbed his victim’s smart phone and threw it on the ground. He allegedly stomped on the object many times, picked it up and then left with it. The phone would be worth $ 1000. The 30-year-old athlete was not stopped on the spot, but surveillance cameras would have filmed the scene.
After investigation, the Miami police arrested McGregor and he was charged with mischief and theft.
He would be kept in a Miami prison and he will have to provide a deposit of $ 12,500.
McGregor is a former UFC lightweight champion. He lost his title to Khabib Nurmagomedov on October 6, 2018, at UFC 229.
The combatant is not at his first trouble with the law. About a year ago, he was arrested by New York police for attacking a bus carrying UFC fighters.
